This is a matched pair of Colt No. 3 Thuer derringers in .41 rimfire, with serial numbers 18571 and 18578. One derringer has an excellent bore and the other has two pits in the bore. Both have about 99 percent original nickel. One has about 93 to 95 percent original blue, while the other has about 60 percent original blue with a blue-brown patina. The pearl grips are fitted, one without a chip and the other with a small chip where the grip meets the frame.
This pair suits a collector of Colt derringers who wants two guns from the same pattern with different finishes. The two serial numbers sit a few numbers apart, which the seller notes is common for pairs. Check your state's handgun rules, including age and permit requirements, before you order.
